The Book of Psalms for Worship

The books are wonderful. Our psalm singing group was very excited to use them. Customer service was also very helpful with a unique processing request.

This is a good solid singable metric psalter. The translations are clear, read well, and seem to be staying close to the meanings of the psalm texts. The musical settings seem to be good solid singable standard hymn tunes, so you have a psalter that is set up to sound best sung acappella in parts. I like that.

Our church is hoping to begin singing more psalms. This book will be a huge help with moving in this direction. The book is well constructed and the pages are all very clear.

A beautiful book that will help elevate our family worship and give us a new appreciation of the Psalms. The opening of the book provides a short history of psalm singing in church history which I’ve found insightful.

Beautifully bound Psalter for family worship or personal worship and ofcourse for the congregational worship. Appreciate that the Psalms are set to tunes that are familiar to us (from regular hymnody). Also love that it is set in meter, rhyme, and with the musical score. Helps with singing with everyone young or old. We can sing Scripture back to God everyday. This one I gifted to a friend who is homeschooling her kids and she wants to teach her kids to sing the Psalms, but we have several for our own family.

I am very pleased with the index that allows me to find melodies I already know. Tried this out on my church this week and it was well-received!

An extensive collection of the psalms and tunes of Christendom. It is glorious to sing the Lord's praise with the congregation of the righteous! Would love if you would bring back the mini version.

Great books. (I wonder if a 7-shape note edition would be possible.) No problems with order and delivery.

How precious that this book of psalms has been translated and set to music so that we can sing the 150 psalms of the Bible, as they were meant to be sung. We sing from this book every week at church and it is so much richer theologically than many of the repetitive contemporary Christian songs. It is helpful by including the musical notes for those who can read music. I also tell others about psalter.org if I need to listen to the tunes. One time I found myself thinking very negatively so I meditated on psalm 103 and put myself to sleep meditating on it over a period of time and found this very helpful! I have bought extra copies of this book to give to others outside the Reformed Presbyterian Church. They have found it to be a wonderful devotional book and have been very appreciative. In introducing the book to them it is very important that you go over with others the additional insert called "Familar Hymn Tunes in The Book of Psalms for Worship". Please don't forget this insert when shipping the books! In the indexes at the back are the following: Index of Tunes Alphabetically, Index of Tunes Metrically (If 2 different psalms with 2 different tunes have the same meter, which is listed at the bottom of each psalm, then either tune can be used to sing this psalm.), Index of Composers, Arrangers, and Sources, Index of First Lines & Phrases Alphabetically, Index of Biblical Topics, Alphabetically (This topical index is great!), and the Index of Psalm Usage in the New Testament. The Bible itself breaks down the book of Psalms into 5 consecutive sections, and this is listed in the Contents along with some of the history of psalm singing. What would I like to do when they come out with the next version of the psalms? Please include "Familar Hymn Tunes in The Book of Psalms for Worship" as an index so that this insert does not get lost! For those of us who were brought up singing hymns, this is quite helpful. Also, from the previous version called The Book of Psalms for Singing, there was always one tune which could be used to sing the whole psalm. That is not true of this version. Please bring that back in the next update. (Of course, this will make the book larger!) Also, I was so disappointed that Psalm 27A (The LORD's my light and saving strength) from The Book of Psalms for Singing was left out and replaced with a different tune and slightly different translation. Please bring it back, as well!

Excellent singable psalter

This is a great psalter. Everyone should be singing the psalms.
